Description

Team Parker have taken another major step forward this season with the launch of two, two car Bentley teams, one in British GT and the other competing in Blancpain Endurance. “We’re extremely excited to have Team Parker Racing in the Bentley Motorsport fold,” commented Bentley’s Director of Motorsport Brian Gush. “It’s important that we partner up with teams that have proven they have what it takes to run race- and championship-winning cars and we are confident that, together, we can have success. “Having a strong presence in the British GT Championship was a key focus for us for 2016. It is one of the top national GT championships in the world and it’s right on our doorstep, so it makes perfect sense to work with a seasoned championship team like Team Parker Racing and aim for the overall title.” The addition of Bentley to the Parker fold continues something of a long held family interest in the marque. They selected the Continental GT3 after witnessing its Blancpain Sprint Series and GT Asia Championship wins, and second place finish in Blancpain Endurance Series in 2015. “We’re absolutely delighted to have signed a deal with Bentley,” commented Stuart Parker, Team Principal at Team Parker Racing. “It is a fantastic British brand, which is close to my heart. It’s been a refreshing experience dealing with the team. From the very first conversation to signing the contract last week, we’ve felt incredibly welcome and close to the factory and that’s a unique experience when dealing with a manufacturer. “The Continental GT3 has proven itself in Europe, so we know we can hit the ground running in the Blancpain Endurance Series, and we’re looking forward to taking Bentley back to the British GT Championship grid.” While looking forward to further success in Blancpain and British GT, the team are also staying firmly focussed on the series where they have enjoyed multiple championship wins, the Porsche Carrera Cup. Front runner Stephen Jolley has signed for 2016. In BTCC they are running Alex Martin in his second year of the series under the banner of Dextra Racing. Having spent his first season getting to grips with the rough and tumble of BTCC, this year he’s hoping to start making his own mark on the series. To accommodate their ever expanding team, the Parker brothers virtually doubled the size of their facility outside Leicester last year. 2016 could well see them looking for further room for expansion if more success comes their way. The team which initially became famed for its many championship wins in Caterham racing, and this is reflected in its status today as the company that looks after Caterham’s corporate work. This extends to track days, drift days, slalom days, technical support and looking after customers. Having broken into BTCC in 2015 (a long held ambition) and stepped up to Bentley in 2016, the aspiration of competing at Le Man may be closer than ever.
